Today's topic will be about our base chakra, our first chakra.
We have a physical body. Outside the physical body is an aura. Inside the aura are 7 energetic bodies. Each energetic body has a chakra connected to it. The first chakra is the base chakra, attached to the etheric body. When it's healthy, the base chakra is bright red in color, well structured, circulating, and pulsating at the right rhythm and tempo for a healthy, balanced chakra.
The first and seven chakras are top and bottom, and all the others are front and back. They all run through the spine. So, life force energy comes up through the base chakra, nourishing the spine, the skeletal system, the kidneys, and the lower half of our body. It's what helps us feel grounded.
When functioning properly, life force energy comes up and into the base chakra and the spine, up and around the hips, and down the legs; it makes a nice circuit. There's also a circuit from inside the feet. The feet' chakras are open, and life force energy comes up through the feet, coming up and going around. So it's a nice, healthy loop system when the Base Chakra is functioning well.
The Base Chakra is associated with basic survival instincts and our needs.
It's about feeling grounded and centered. So, from an energetic perspective, if your base chakra is open and functioning properly and life force energy is coming up from life, from other earth, coming in through your base chakra, going up and filling your spine, going through the hips, and going down the legs, out the legs, you're going to feel a connection to the earth.
You'll feel better in your physical body. A healthy circuit from the Base chakra can help you feel much more grounded, centered, and balanced. Earth energy is Coming up to support and connect us to the earth. This brings stability and a sense of belonging.
When this chakra is not in balance or is shut down, we tend not to feel centered. When the base chakra is not functioning correctly, we tend not to feel secure or safe physically, and we don't feel grounded to the earth. We may have survival issues, money issues, or not feel like we belong. Sometimes, it can make us feel like we don't belong. We tend to be in fear.
It is important to understand this about the chakra so we can work with it most effectively and know which chakra to work on and when. The idea behind working with our chakras is to come to life from all of them. We want all of them to be open, bright, and healthy so that we can experience life through all of them.
So when we do this work, know that you want all chakras to be open, bright, and healthy because each functions for our overall well-being. It is very important to have the first one functioning properly because we are in a physical body, and everything that we're experiencing here in the physical is very tangible. We seem to be most affected by it because it's in the physical realm, which we interact with daily.
So when our base chakra is functioning well:
We feel safe in our bodies, on the planet, and in life.
We feel like we belong here in our bodies and life.
We feel like we are at home in our bodies and on the planet
We feel stable, secure, and balance
We feel financially abundant and secure
Sometimes, we have experiences that make the chakras function improperly. So, if you had traumatic experiences: physical abuse, abandonment, poverty, homelessness, and not being wanted or provided for, all those experiences can negatively affect the base chakra and the etheric body.
This is the hard part about having any trauma growing up. We are then affected later by what we went through because of the level of trauma. Sometimes, these traumatic experiences can be very difficult to deal with at the time that we're dealing with them, so the trauma and experiences can cause the chakra to close or become disfigured in some way, as well as it can hold the experience in the energy field until we address them. I personally have found mediation to be an effective way to deal with it. We might have been very young when it happened, or you might have been younger or not have the level of maturity we have now.
So, when we consider what we're going through and start working with our chakras, we want to be aware that each is important to the overall system. The base chakra is incredibly important because it is one we help identify within our physical world. We are having a human experience. We're in physical bodies, and our physical lives need attention in ways that go beyond physical needs. We want to ensure that our bodies get the nourishment they need from the environment because they are meant to.
Our charas take in Prana/ Life force energy that helps sustain the health of the body, and we want to make sure it's functioning well. So, when we look at the base chakra, we will also want to look at the connected etheric body. We want to address both through a meditation practice. (we will touch on the etheric body in a different video, but for now, know that the etheric body is the first layer outside the physical body and is connected to the base chakra)
